The referbished XC HST is back in traffic again today (Friday 17th Octomer) on the southbound diagram. I seen it today passing through Cramlington on the East Coast Main line between Newcastle and Berwick.

It was out of service due to a number of problems all of last week.

So how long before it brakes down again then ?

Does anyone know when there will be another referbished set running ?

I hope every train brakes down every day, they need to stop somehow you know!
But the likely reason for it breaking down is because it's not really undergone much testing since being fitted with an MTU engine, whereas the FGW ones underwent 500 (?) miles before entering service.

This was more to do with coaching stock faults IIRC, rather than the PCs. Remember also that Brush have MTU'd something like 150 PCs before these, they should have ironed out what you'd call process problems (not that it's a guarantee of course)

Well no, because if they don't mind not being understood then they can carry on as they are, as long as they have a translator available.

Just to confirm that the reason that the refurbished set went back to Wabtec was purely for rectification of the coaches. they have been having problems with the lighting relays. The MTU power have been virtually faultless:D:D

I'll burst your bubble then, I believe 321 was having problems nearly all last week, and caused around 120delay minutes to XC01 last week?
