Appologies if this has been covered elsewhere but I cant find a thread covering it.

Are the XC HST's signed by Voyager drivers or are they staffed separately ? I would assume that XC drivers would sign both forms of traction?

Cheers! :)

I should hardly think there would be separate drivers. If so, there would be a lot of unbalanced travelling passenger and uneconomical working. I should imagine all depots on HST routes would sign both.

then you "imagine" quite wrong, it would be nice if people could answer the question rather than guess!

Not all depots and not all drivers at the depots that do sign them!

It's still better than people answering a question as cold hard fact, yet it's actually a load of bulls**t, which happens far too often on most forums! (I'm not aiming this at you by the way 455)

Those drivers that sign HSTs also sign Voyagers. However, it does not mean that ALL Voyager drivers also sign HSTs. Certainly at New Street no-one signs HSTs and nothing else.

I thought the XC services changed drivers at New Street or do you mean the drivers that are based out of the station?

I mean that I can only speak definitively for New Street depot.

However, I wouldn't imagine that there are any "HST only" drivers anywhere on the XC network. The very small number of HSTs alone should make this fact obvious. Anyone who signs them for XC must surely also sign Voyagers (although perhaps not Cl170s).
