With CrossCountry diverting via the Golden Valley this weekend and calling additionally at Swindon. Is it ok to do a break of journey at Swindon on this occasion please?

Don't see why not, it's an advertised calling point, with no pick up/set down restrictions

A couple of months ago we took a XC train from Plymouth to Swindon - as said above, it's an advertised stop so it's no different to any other. The only thing that confused the train manager was asking for a weekend 1st upgrade (had to buy it to Cheltenham, which was cheaper than GWR's weekend 1st class upgrade).
