Just having a look at Live Departures and for some reason, there's a 0710 Gloucester to Stansted Airport via Birmingham New Street and Peterborough service with headcode 1L00.

I thought these services only ran between Birmingham and Stansted as this is the first I've heard of this particular service, hence I'm slightly confused...:|

Yes - interesting. The public timetable shows it as 0710 Gloucester-Leicester on table 57 and 0822 Birmingham New St-Stansted on table 49, with no footnote to show it's a through service. Looks like its just a convenient stock linking through New St during the rush hour, rather than a service for public convenience, and this information has somehow been made public via the LDBs.

Yes - I noticed this the other Saturday when I was at Peteborough. Seems to be a one off once a day. It was advertisied as from Brimingham New Street at Peterborough, but the National Rail service showed it as through from Gloucester.

It may be because of engineering works, trains take 30 minutes longer, so to keep their paths to Stansted they leave in the Leicester slot before.

The 'Crosscountry' timetable booklet has also showed it since May by means of the usual letters above the columns, referring you to the notes section:

SX G Starts from Gloucester 0710. Also calls at Cheltenham Spa 0721, Ashchurch for Tewkesbury 0729, Bromsgrove 0749, University 0809

SO H Starts from Gloucester 0706. Also calls at Cheltenham Spa 0718, Ashchurch for Tewkesbury 0725, Bromsgrove 0744, University 0800

So it gets just as much publicity as (for example) the daily Nottingham - Bournemouth service...
