XC disruption - trying to get from Lancaster to Derby

I'm trying to get to Derby via Tamworth to make a 4:40 flight from East Midlands airport but I've just seen that there's disruption on XC between Birmingham and Cheltenham Spa, and it doesn't look like any XC trains are moving between Tamworth and Derby.

Should I still head to Tamworth and hope that XC services are restored soon or try for a different route? My booked route is as follows;

11:58 AWC from Lancaster to London - change at Stafford
13:32 LNWR from Stafford to London - change at Tamworth
14:06 XC from Tamworth to Nottingham

The only alternative you would appear to have would be to change at Crewe and take the 13:26 train from there direct to Derby, arriving at 14:41. Either way it looks like something of a a gamble and you don't seem to have left much leeway in your timings to allow for being delayed.

Changing at Crewe instead of Stafford will at least give you a few minutes to take stock of the situation before deciding which way to go.

Thanks - will probably go with EMR from Crewe. Serves me right for trusting XC to run on time...

The inward working of the EMR service was only 4 minutes late, so I would expect that the 13:26 will be able to depart on time.
