They can't work in multiple; the 170s have BSI couplers, while the Voyagers have Scharfenberg (i.e. Dellner) couplers. Even if 171s were used instead, their software would be incompatible.

Wouldn't be a problem coupling them, about 20mph would do it.
Whether they would be capable of moving afterward is another question entirely!
