Hi,
Trying to book fares for the family holiday down to Cornwall in late-July - I know the fares aren't available yet for when we want to go (24th outward/31st return), but I've been having a look at the fares around then.
There appear to be no advance fares from Four Oaks to St Ives, despite Avantix Traveller claiming they are available - the cheapest given fare for 2 adults and 2 children with a Family Railcard is £199.20 OPR. I've tried splitting the fares at various places (the cheapest appears to be Exeter), and there is the odd advance fare, but still nothing to/from Four Oaks.
From what I can see, advance fares are now only available on one company, so FGW sell them from Taunton to St Ives, and XC sell them from Birmingham to Taunton, but this seems ridiculous - I'm sure this was never the case in the past.
Anybody have any ideas if this is true, and if theres any way to purchase advance fares direct (I'd like to, if possible, travel on the XC HSTs as far as Plymouth).
Thanks in advance,
David
