XC 18:16 Leicester - Birmingham

I was on the (delayed) 17:49 tonight from Leicester and am convinced that I saw a XC Voyager on Platform 1, presumably about to operate the 18:16 service.

Were my eyes deceiving me?

Happens often. XC use the standby voyager if they're short of 170's or are short of traincrew who sign 170's.

OK - Never seen it before. That train calls all stations except Water Orton, are the smaller ones (South wigston, Narborough) large enough to accomodate all carriages

A 220 fits all those platforms.

I believe it's off to Cardiff on the 1930 ex New Street as well this evening as well.

The Voyager in question was 220002
And it has worked to Cardiff as well

They work the 0637 Nottingham - Bournemouth MF, that is the only booked run

There is one Manchester-Cardiff service in both directions although that goes via Bristol and not Lydney. When the route from Cheltenham-Bristol is closed Voyagers and HSTs use the route via Lydney though.

a 170 can sometimes fill in for a 220/221. Happened a few Weeks ago, Bristol Parkway - Birmingham New Street.
