X Car Stop?

I think it's location specific? There's one at Woking platform 1 which is where trains stop at if they are waiting for another portion.

What's the X? S is usually used for "anything"?
In this case it refers to a precision car stop, e.g stop here exactly. It is often done at locations where the platform length is only just sufficient. Obviously in this example it is only an issue for the 4-car formations. Another example is Chesterfield, there are VT 9X stop boards, for 9-car Voyager formations. EMR use SDO and only release the front 8 coaches.
