What are they going to do about the few unrefurbed coaches now being used since they extended the sets? Are they refurbishing more?

They have 3 sets with 4 coaches, 2 formed of refurbed coaches and one using the old stock

i always thaught there was 4 complete sets

No, only 3 at present, soon to be 4 when the last batch of refurbed coaches are available, the 4th standing as a spare set. They have the provisions to make a 4th set though with the unrefurbed spare coaches.

Have heard from WSMR that there should be an ECS move of refurbished stock from Crewe this afternoon, running to Wembley Chiltern depot. This is presumably on a VSTP basis. Train is due to leave Crewe around 14:30 and a WSMR driver is en route to Crewe for the move. As it seems that three of WSMR's 67s are out of commission today, the train is due to be hauled by a Virgin 57/3, with the WSMR driver conducting a Virgin driver over the Chiltern route. Headcode not known as yet, but possibly 5Z57?

Train is routed via Stafford, Wolves, but route through Birmingham not known, nor whether it's via Coventry or Hatton. Then Banbury, South Ruislip, Greenford, Ealing Broadway, Acton Canal Wharf, Neasden Junction and into Wembley depot from the south - times not known. Usual disclaimers apply!

Cheers, Geoff

Are these the extra refurbished coaches for the three rakes, to take them all to 4 coaches long? Or is it the third rake of three coaches?

Sorry - I can't remember if W+S had the third rake of 3 delivered!

These may have been the coaches that were taken there with the loco needing an exam, maybe the exam has taken longer than expected and maybe these are the coaches off this set ;) Maybe I am wrong but the loco that failed at Wembley is now at Aylesbury under repair and should be with these coaches tomorrow!

Ran as 5Z00, with the loco coupled to the DVT on the London end of the train, hence the need to run via Greenford and Acton due to the lack of shunt release at Marylebone.

Turned out to be a bit of a scramble to get a shot of 57306 at Banbury - it was booked a crew change there so I thought I would have ample time to set up once it arrived - but it stopped for all of about 15 seconds! I just managed one almost acceptable shot, which is now on my site at:

http://geoff-plumb.fotopic.net/p62907031.html

and unfortunately, most of the train was obscured by a northbound Voyager sitting in the down platform...

Consist was reported elsewhere as 57306 82301 12169 12131 12072 10236. This set is apparently to be used on tomorrow's 1J80, though I assume without 57306 but with a WSMR 67, if they're back in operation. Where 57306 was due to go from Wembley LMD, I don't know. As the train was going "round the houses" to get into Wembley from the south end, the DVT will be on the north end of the set, as per usual.

Cheers, Geoff

Due to failure of 2 locomotives with wheel problems on Monday/Monday night set WS001 was stranded at Crewe ETD without a good loco and the loco at Wembley had to go to Aylesbury for Tyre Turning. Only way to ensure service for the morning was to haul WS001 to Wembley with hired in resource.

Set WS001 now reunited with 67012 at Wembley, and 57306 returned to Euston via South Ruislip and North London line - same route as Virgin diversions.
