Generally the first place you hear about the commencement of service is in the press release from the operator themselves, so I'm not surprised

Since they've been preparing for this for a while now I hope it all goes off smoothly!

No. WSMR have always aimed at a Spring 08 launch, and thats's what their doing!!

And, you mean NXEC's livery looks like WSMR's livery, as this livery has been out and about online for over 12 months now.

Well they have been about for more than a 18 months now. They are now owned by DB, as Renaissance Trains was taken over by them.

Wrexham, will be operating return services a day using 3 sets of stock, to start off with they will be using 67's top and tail as there DVT's will not be ready till later in the summer, some thing with world shortage of OTMR recorders which need to be fitted to the DVT's. They will also be using Cargo-D stock till there own stock is finished being refurbished later in the summer.

The big question is how desperate will they be enforcing the set down/pick up restrictions at Wolverhampton to stop them being scooped in Tame bridge-Wolves on daytrippers

As far as Shrewsbury possibly but Wrexham is out Day Ranger area.

Day ranger boundary is shown as Gobowen on both National Rail and London Midland websites. They can also be used down to Leamington. It is just a matter of whether they are accepted on Wrexham & Shropshire services.

Its interesting that WSMR seem to have a completely different ticketing policy to Grand Central and have not yet announced their fares
