Wrexham General - Chester - Shotton

Hi All.

As a regular traveller from WRX to CTR (although not regular enough to warrant a season ticket) I'm wondering if it's permitted to get a ticket to Shotton and just leave at Chester (Anytime Day Return). It's cheaper and by my limited knowledge of the routeing guide does appear to be a permitted route. Just wondering if I'll get any hassle from the gatestaff if I regularly do it.

Yes that's permitted on map CH. Anytime tickets always allow break of journey.

As island says it is perfectly valid to use it to travel via Chester.

I regularly use the ticket for the journey you propose and have never been queried by gate line staff. You'll also find that most of the time the tickets will operate the barriers at Chester as well.

On the rare occasions that the barriers at Chester are actually closed !!

I've only been recently been visiting around 12:00 and the barriers have always been in operation. I know post 19:00 they are almost always open.
