When they had to change from WWF to WWE, there was a reason they chose the word Entertainment as that is what it is.
Pre-scripted, pre-rehearsed. Yes it does take skill and I wouldn't like to be in the ring with any of them (as I'd probably get the Bob Holly treatment but I'm not Lesnar so couldn't give it back
No more fake than a play, TV series or film and people get emotionally invested in them as well.
To be fair, WWE lost any claim on being real when The Undertaker came back from the dead (twice?).
I'm not a follower myself, but most people I know who are fans are NOT labouring under the delusion that it's a "real" sport. I've not seen WrestleMania, but if it's entertainment then it all follows on...
What I didn't mention, for the sake of decorum, was that a waitress in the restaurant was also a seaside landlady, I was one of her guests, and she also 'put up' visiting wrestlers, etc, though she appeared to share her bedroom with some of them! My bedroom was next to hers, but I soon moved out!
