Passed a wrapped up carriage going the opposite way (south) today on the M1 near Chesterfield - completely wrapped in a medium dark blue canvas - just the one carriage on a HGV trailer - any idea what it could have been ?

Don't know if all the Turbostars going from Scotrail to Southern have already gone south, if they haven't then it might be a coach from one of them going south

Southern aren't taking on any more 170s in the short term and why would it be going via Chesterfield?

If it helps, I saw it on the M180, heading towards the M18 - I assumed it'd come into one of the ports on the East coast...

Which port are the IEP coaches being delivered to from Japan atm?
The bodyshells are being imported via Tyne Dock for transport to the Newton Aycliffe factory for fitting out and final assembly. Following completion at Newton Aycliffe, I would have thought that finished production units would be delivered by rail, rather than individual vehicles by road, but could be mistaken.

Compete speculation could it be a second 385 unit heading to the NR test track (High Marnham) but the 385s not having the paperwork for drag yet?

[The first unit having gone to Velim]
