I was going to take the 15:30 from Basingstoke to Waterloo. There was severe disruption around Raynes Park and trains were being delayed and cancelled. However the 15:30 arrived on time and so I boarded it. It was then announced that the train would now divert to Reading and terminate there. At Reading I was able to get on a GWR train and arrived at Paddington only around 10 minutes after the original arrival should have happened at Waterloo. However if I then had travelled to Waterloo (I didn't) I would have well past the 15 minutes delayed point.
Or would the fact I got to a London Terminal station preclude a claim?
