Hi All,

This maybe worth a shot, but i think i know the answer already.

A friend has just bought a brand new 13" Macbook Pro (with a Nvidia Geforce 9400M graphics card), he didn't relise that nvidia was such a problem :D

He has installed Windows 7 on bootcamp. Which went rather well for once. Followed the install instruction on this forum, for the windows 7 install and it seems to install fine.

But then when he come to run BVE, all he gets is a white background, and a long list of errors when he tries to load a route (picture attatched).

I know its probally an Nvidia problem, but has anyone managed to get BVE to run with this card? He asked me to have a look for him, and i have run out of idea.

Thanks

Andy

I tried many times to get BVE4 to work on Vista. I ended up with a similar problem.

I suspect it's not Vista/Windows 7, but the graphics card. In the end I gave up, and tried OpenBVE, which worked straight away without a single problem.

Most of the routes I drive work fine in OpenBVE, and there is also the advantage of mixing BVE2/4 trains and routes without changing any files.

oBVE should run natively under Mac and Linux as well as Windows.

Be aware though that you ahve to download separate dependancies before it will work. Details are on the oBVE website.

Find the thread openBVE for Mac OS X on the openBVE forums; download the entire Mac OS X package, and the fixes (there's 2; exterior.csv and the openBVE.exe itself, which forces the "ignore" button onto the screen). Install the entire thing in \Applications. No other faffing around is required.

Any more help, give me shout. I'm on Mac too.
