I cannot stand the likes of 'Escape To The Country' and 'Homes In The Sun.' At a time when so many people are struggling to find work, pay their bills and make ends meet, the last thing you want to see on TV is people leering at fifty bedroom houses, moaning because they only have the £650,000 budget which doesn't cover homes with air conditioned garages, horse stables and space shuttle launching pads.

Am I correct in assuming that all of the above are very cheap to make?
Eastenders could be compared to a factory production line where the Quality Control guy has sneaked off for a fag

Anything that glamourises excessive drinking and lood behaviour in public. IIRC, Boozed Up Abroad was one such example.
It's been a bloody long ciggy break, they've been absent since 1988!
There are far too many that immediately spring to mind. Any of these stupid reality shows qualify for my list - BGT, X Factor, I'm A Z-Lister Get Me Out of Here etc.
I also can't stand comedy that simply relies on swear words to get a laugh, the occasional one maybe, but all the time?

5. - Deal Or No Deal. For all the reasons outlined by other posters.
6. - Anything featuring Gok Wan. An anagram of the last four letters of his name describes his show.
7. - American sitcoms. (Note to producers: 'Sitcom' means 'Situation COMEDY'.)
8. - Loose Women.
9. - The League of Gentlemen. Is it supposed to be funny?
10. - Sport. (Except diving, swimming and cycling.) Guaranteed to have me reaching for the OFF button.

I have a confession to make....
Although Coach Trip is garbage - I'm addicted to it
John McCarrick (sorry about spelling) is a hoot and has just joined.
His views are so unreconstructed (especially on women) that they are hilarious and rarely voiced in this day and age.

Joanna Lumley/Caroline Quentine etc ego trip "travel" programmes - their day was 25 years ago.
Any "proper" travel programmes.
This Morning - tedious rubbish.
Cash In The Attic - no cash just old junk.
Britains got Talent - well it hasn't, none whatsoever.
X Factor - not so much the show but the damage it inflicts on the charts.
Chat shows - just shut up.
Extraordinary People - 8 limbs and 2 heads does not make gripping TV.
Educating Essex - has anything actually happened?
Strictly Come Dancing - far too long and far too boring.
The Million Pound Drop - makes you want to drop......off a very high cliff.
Embarrassing Bodies - bluergh...
Hells Kitchen - my worst nightmare come to life.
I actually don't mind Big Brother and The Only Way is Essex, their watchable enough.

Mr Temple Meads has the nail on the head. It's not that I don't like it, Ian Hislop and Paul Merton and both funny people, but the jokes on the programme itself have just never appealed to me. Though the episodes done by Jeremy Clarkson were quite good, and by Jack Dee, obviously.
I've not watched it regularly for a few years now. There was an episode hosted by Brian Blessed which was really good, possibly only because Brian insulted most of the panel accidentally and shouted a lot.
It's never quite been the same since Angus Deyton disgraced himself and was sacked.

I love HIGNFY, if you're into topical satire it's so funny. Some presenters are funnier that others, John Prescott's show was hilarious because I couldn't stop laughing at his autocue failings!

I saw a bit of it last night. The Liam Fox jokes got a bit tiresome but the 'Millitarts' bit was quite funny.

You need a benchmark to judge really bad TV shows by, but in 1992, the BBC put forward a new show called "Eldorado", a soap about British residents in the Costa Del Sol. This was one of the worst-ever programmes made by the BBC with what is still viewed as the worst level of storylines accentuated by the worst examples of "wooden acting". No wonder that Alan Yentob had this programme withdrawn after only its first series. Even ITV today, with its penchant for "lowest common multiple" drivel, would find it very hard to come up with anything so bad.
Most of the shows people hate on here then are pretty predictable, the same old, I wanna be a glamour reality show crud.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned Dragons Den or the Apprentice, the prats we get on these shows make me wish some maniac with a sub-machine would finish them off. Are you saying there exists a TV program including Brian Blessed, where he does not insult people and shout a lot?
I have never seen one, apart maybe from Z-Cars but then he was only a nipper in those days.
However, one of the funniest clips of him was last week on a Stephen Fry program about human communication, where Mr Blessed had to hold his hand in a tank of ice cold water for as long as he could while at the same time saying b0ll0cks repeatedly.
On the subject of complete rubbish tv, has no one seen something called Dickinsons Real Deal? which is basically just another yawn inducing auction show but the public get a chance to sell to a dealer first. Not too bad you may think, but instead of just saying "I'll give you £50 for that heap of tat" the dealer produces a wad of notes and proceeds to count out every offer very slowly with money.
I am not sure what miserable audience this is targetted at, but one viewing of it at my Dads for 20 minutes and I had lost the will to live.
In short, most tv is cr*p these days but anything involving people with teeth that glow in the dark, false eyebrows/lashes, and a spray on tan should be banned.

Brian Blessed on HIGNFY was one of the greatest half-hours of TV I have ever watched. He was great last week on Stephen Fry's word / language doc too.

Dragons Den is just a show about poor people begging to rich people, thats thinly disgised as business. Meanwhile the apprentice is just watching a load of people with big ego's and bugger all else argue while also trying to disguise itself as business.
Real business is too boring to stick on telly.
Do any of you hate those crap feel good documentories about empowering yourself, these are typically aimed at women. Stuff like the 'Great British Body' by Tranny and Spanner. These shows feel like the first 15mins of them actually have something to say meanwhile the other 45mins are just padding the show out with lots of 'life changing stories' and emotion shots with some crap upbeat music in the background. It make me want to vomit.
