Hi all,

We have discussed before our favorite TV programes, so this has got me thinking. What about our worst programes?

Share with us your worst TV programmes!

I'll kick us off with the following...

The Only Way is Essex - The WORST idea for a TV programe EVER. How can someone like this dribble? Its so fake, the people are so fake, everything about it is just fake.
Big Brother - Level pegging with the above for the worst idea for a programme. Just what is the point in this programme?
Jersey Shore - What the .. is this?

Over to you....

Eastenders - this is the most depressing pile of drivel on the screen. Even the theme tune gets me down. How anyone can watch it is beyond me.

XFactor - 10 minutes of programme 2 hours of padding.

Deal or No Deal - Sorry Noel but its boring!

Big Brother

And anything with the word "celebrity" in the title.

I've just had a vision of hell - Celebrity X Factor with Jodie Marsh, Katie Price and Kerry Katona.

Greenback's "vision of Hell" could be altered to work in our favour though. Why not make a "I'm a Celebrity... DON'T get me out of here!" thing? By which I mean, send these people to wherever it is the filming is done, and leave them there. Period. And then "accidentally" delete the footage from the initial episodes in which they leave the show, making it impossible to broadcast in the first place.

Otherwise, most things that have been mentioned above, although some ITV stuff - usually live ITV stuff - is OK. Also add most things by 4 and 5 and their associates.

You can ruin a perfectly good TV show by adding either 'US', 'Celebrity' or 'on ice' to it.

I am surprised you included that one. I find it fascinating at times, a lovely blend of architecture and psychology.
My pet hate are the trails for Match of the Day, where mr Wooden (Lineker) always claims there is a cracking programme coming up. There may well be (although it is football, so probably not) but the performance is terrible.
And, when I lost ITV channels for a few days at digital switchover recently I realised there was literally nothing I even felt a slight twinge about losing

Anything to do with:

X Factor - I would position a sniper at the back of the auditorium and when it was clear they were sh*t a single gun shot would ring out with the remains of the "talent" being dragged off stage

Britiains Got Talent - see above

Celebrity Come Dancing - Brucie, just retire ffs!

Celebrity Dancing on Ice - What is the point? Wher eis the entertainment?

Big Brother - why, oh why, cant the RAF test out some new bunker nusiting bomb on them all?

Any "home"/Decorating show - except Grand designs and Cowboy Builders which i like only for the little baldy going crazy when some scum bag rips of an old lady!

Loose Women - who watches this sh*t - you couldnt have a show with 4 aged hasbeen stringy blokes slagging women off all day long!

East Enders - does no one in london own a washing machine? Or drink anything other than expensive bottled larger?

Glee - arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh WHY?

Lee Nelson's Well Good Show - quite simply - wa*k

Gavin and Stacey - not funny - vastly overrated

Little Britain - Just not funny in anyway

Deal or No Deal - It is just people opening boxes - you have no special feelings or powers or numbers or anything. Just open the box!

The Only Way is Essex - OMG, like NO! :D What the chuff is this about?

Anything with Ricky Gervais - (since the office) Just not funny

Anything with either of the Carr Brothers - (Jimmy or Alan :D) About as funny as gonorrhoea

Daybreak - who watches this crap

Come dine with me - WHY do i want to watch people eating their dinner?

God TV has gone sh*t in recent years hasn't it! <(<(

Come Dine with Me? Seriously?

You don't watch that to watch people eating dinner. You watch it for Dave Lamb's hilarious commentary. One of only two decent things C4 have ever made. (The other is Countdown, but it hasn't been the same since Richard Whiteley died. Stelling or not, it's past its sell-by now.)

I think you'll find it's at least three see here. If you've not watched this series then you should it's a cracking railway documentary series.

I am guilty of condemning programmes based on the description or review and simply don't watch.

Among the stuff that cause a switch to something else (even if it means viewing something the colour of television tuned to a dead channel)

Any "reality" show
Any soap
Noel Edmunds
Motor racing
Foopball
Cookery
Makeovers
Ant and Dec
Gardening
Tennis
Anything with 'celebrity' in the title
Anything with the presenter's name in the title, e.g., Dickinson's Real Deal, Gok's Clothes Roadshow

All of the above (with some minor exceptions) with the addition of Goldenballs, with Jasper Carrott. My missus watches this, but she never watches it as it's broadcast, but uses Sky+. This way, she can condense a half hour or so programme into 5 minutes, because it's all PADDING. It's all bullsh*t suspense and arguing between the contestants. The actual meat of the programme, the reveals and voting out, makes up quite literally 5 minutes of the entire episode.

Deal or No Deal is exactly the same. You could have that programme finished, done and dusted in about 10 minutes. I am not entertained by Noel Edmonds prancing about talking utter crap, nor by contestants crying and hugging each other saying such ridiculous hyperbole as "I'm with you all the way, I hope we can change your life, I know this is the HARDEST thing ever". What absolutely sh*te. One of the requirements of that show must be "You, the undersigned, must be an emotionally over the top tosser with no sense of perspective to partake in this game show."

Christ, I HATE television. Thank God for on-demand TV services.

X-Factor is total rubbish as is BGT these shows have made the youth of today think they don't really want to work but be famous for not actually being good at anything. It's just a glorified karioke show.

The only reality tv shows I like are the Apprentice, Dragons Den.

If the BBC or ITV didn't make rubbish such as Strictly or X-Factor they might have enough cash to challenge Sky for the TV rights to show live Premier League and Championship matches.

Have to completely disagree with that one...
QUOTE]

Really? I just don’t think it is as funny as say, The League of Gentleman, Likely Lads, Month Python etc.

I just find many of the current TV comedy shows to be very forced, very visual, not very intelligent and not very funny.

I think we should start a new thread...

Lee Nelson's Well Good Show - The BBC ditched half the F1 rights but continue to produce this garbage <(

I can honestly say I haven;t got a clue what that show is all about. I can make no sense of it whatsoever. Which I think I'm pleased about, really!

Anything connected to Simon Cowell

Including Piers Morgan I hope!

Agreed, if you got four blokes talking about women in the same way they do about men on national TV, there'd be outrage!

I think it's best summed up by Bill Bailey - '[Loose Women?] Oh God, I hate those... b*tches!'
