DB may be good but I fail to see how they are going to replace the entire Voyager fleet and return the service pattern to at least the pre-December 2008 mess up. That's what I require of anyone running the XC franchise.

However, I voted WSMR just to annoy the WSMR fanboys, never used them but I'm sure a number of people who voted from them as the best TOC haven't either.

I would have gone for central trains I don't think any operator could ever do a worse job then them but I guess there is no point at beating a dead donkey. Out of the operators I currently use hard to pick between virgin and fcc. FCC are improving at least virgin are getting worse. Can't vote for xc as I never use them. There is always an alternative.

It's OK, I managed to have a dozey moment and voted for the wrong one as well. Maybe that's how the Tories got in <(

I voted purely out of experience, I voted for FCC (driver only trains are a stupid idea on the Thameslink route, really that should be treated more as an intercity line for the distance it serves). Merseyrail (their trains were in a poor condition when I was there). and other (LUL because they could do better).

I've voted for Cross Country. Every time I have travelled with them the trains have been absolutely packed - not enough carriages. Often they are running late too. I've tried to leave my dislike of Voyagers out of it.

Is it me, or has "somebody" voted for every single TOC listed in this poll, thus making it pointless?

FCC for me, only operator that convinced me that using their service is a complete waste of time and money.
Poor XC though, although ive never used them, they do run the most complicated network of all the TOCs, when something goes bang it really goes bang on XC

No-one has reported any posts on this topic to the moderators at the time of writing.

If anyone has an issue with a post, or topic, it would be much appreciated if you can please use the Report a Post feature. The icon looks like this
report.gif
and appears in the bottom left corner of each post. This greatly helps us as we can all see that the post has been reported.

I can't answer the question about your poll without seeing the URL, but if you can send me a PM with the URL(s) in question I will certainly look into it.

As for this poll, the huge green font is a bit annoying. There is no definition of "worst" so it is impossible for me to vote as I have no idea on what basis I am voting. For example, should I vote for the TOC that has the worst stock, in which case that is meaningless from a company point of view, as it is probably not their decision what stock they get (DfT decide, in general). Or am I meant to base my decision on which suffers the least investment or experiences the most delays (neither of which are likely to be, in the most part, under the control of the TOC), or am I voting for the policies on each TOC?

Should this topic be deleted? If we delete it we may be accused of deleting something that is harmless. But polls like this do annoy a lot of people, especially when no-one really knows what we are voting for. I don't think I'd miss it and I won't participate in it as the question is totally undefined. No-one has reported the poll to us yet, but we will discuss it.

I will contact the OP of the Original Thread Re this issue & will remove the HUGE GREEN FONT.

The main reason we have more than one thread is that we can only have one poll on one thread.

The fact that polls can get annoying is true but however they are enabled and there are no guidelines on how to use them etc...

TBH This Question is Not for Me to Answer - I was only giving MattE2010 a hand and creating this poll for him.

---

PM Sent and has been BCC'd to Yorkie.

We have mods and admins for a reason.

Please stop backseat moderating.

Why Bcc it if you're going to say you have? It completely defeats the point of Bcc in the first place!

I do not feel that my previous post is 'Back Seat' Moderating - I felt that it is appropriate because I am the OP of this thread.

I simply explained why we had the 2nd Thread & I was told that the Green Font was OTT so as it was My Post I removed it.

FYI - I have had no reply or read reciept of the PM I sent to MattE2010. The only reason I sent a BCC copy to Yorkie and then disclosed that I had is that the message was not addressed to Yorkie however I wanted to send a 'Cc' to him and that is not possible so I used 'Bcc' and then told that I had.

GNER for me - charged me again after I missed a connection due to a late inbound service. Took about 3 months to get a refund out of them (including pressure from Transpennine Express, who's service had been late - TPX also refunded the original fare in full as a goodwill)

The poll follows on from my Best & Worst TOC Thred, and at the start I sadi the basis of opinions as being rolling stock, service, staff, stations, fares etc, etc.

Hope this helps. Happy voting :D

Definitely First Capital Connect. They've just began upgrading their rolling stock but previously they were awful. Their services are slow and unreliable, and that's on a good day. No connection across London on evenings or weekends and even when they do go further than London Bridge they take ages. That's without even mentioning the whole fiasco of their drivers deciding not to work overtime and all the cancellations a few months back. Perhaps eventually the improvement in central London to the line will be worth it but there has been engineering work going on most weekends for as long as I can remember.
