So I'm booked on the 10:52 Edinburgh - Preston service

I have a Rail Sale £10 single from Edinburgh - Blackpool North but for the route it has "Ap Tpe & connect"

Am I going to be ok?

“TPE & Connect” is short for TPE & Connections. Therefore it can be sold for any journey involving at least one TPE train (I assume Preston to Blackpool in your case) - the rest is the “connections” part. As long as the Avanti service is listed on your ticket, your ticket is valid and entirely unremarkable. You’ll have nontrivial.

Transpennine don't go to Blackpool.

The ticket is valid by sole dint of it being sold against an itinerary and is de facto valid. No idea why it has that route.

Yep there is no TPE train involved, it's Avanti and Northern.

This is a known issue and the relevant Train Companies have briefed their staff about it.

Why it's only been noticed due to TPE offering "&connections" tickets in this year's Rail Sale is anyone's guess, however.
