It seems to be only yesterday but when I started to scan in my E6 and Kodachrome from 1997 and also started converting my 8mm camcorder footage to digital I realised that it is now 14 years since me and the mates were sat in 'The Mallard' real ale pub on Worksop station. Little did we realise that the array of class 58's and HAA hopper wagons would become a thing of the past

Neither did we think that the various colour schemes we were sio used to would also fade into memory

Worksop always seemed to be busy with the regular passenger services on the old G.C punctuating the MGR trains pounding East to the power stations on the River Trent

The area was also notable for some fine signalboxes and semaphores

The station building was well loooked after and the pub was a most pleasant way to spend a summers evening before catching the last train home.

Some variety was usually to be had like the 'Swineshead revisited' class 33 railtour

Even in the short and murky days of December 1998 there was some intersting stuff to film
