Hi all!
I am a Signaller on the British rail network, and have, in the past 12 months, taken control of a new signal box in an area of the country that has freight! Something I saw none of on my former patch.
As such, I am trying to learn my freight trains as best as I can. Ideally, I would like to be able to hear a headcode and know instantly what that train is carrying, what weight it is likely to be, what length it is likely to be. The weight and length I am quite easily able to figure out from the freight consist, but the what the train is carrying is a bit more of a mystery to me. Any tips? There is a TRUST user guide here in the box but I am struggling to find what I'm looking for in it!
