Worcester Area Problem 29/09

Purely out of curiosity pleasedoes anybody know what went wrong in the Worcester area today. London Midland and GWR had cancellations. My partner was due on the 7.49 from Foregate Street to New Street which was cancelled. Apparently it ran from Shrubhill which as she was very early she could have walked to had she known. In the end she worked from home.

Correct:

Alteration to the 1M56 29/09/15 07:09 Hereford to Birmingham New Street due 08:39.

This train will be started from Worcester Foregate Street.

Will be formed of 3 coaches instead of 5.

This train will no longer call at Hereford, Ledbury, Colwall, Great Malvern and Malvern Link.

This is due to a member of train crew being unavailable.

Have the reason - the train conductor had a mishap at Hereford station and was required to attend hospital for a check up. Train then ran empty without him / her. LM have no traincrew at Hereford , only Worcester.

Thank you. I hope they are now fine. These things can happen to us all.

It is a shame they could not have taxied the replacement staff member to Foregate Street (or even Malvern Link) as that train picks up a large number of people at Foregate Street. I suppose those sort of things are not operationally possible at short notice.
