Came across this old wooden ruler.. think it may have any value to collector of rail memorabilia?

Is this item something that you were hoping to sell?
And just to check, this is an 18 inch length ruler?
If so, it's probably made primarily of boxwood, and so, the item is not likely to be of any great intrinsic value.
As regards its age, presumably it relates to the original Great Northern Railway, which operated between 1850 and 1922.
Other forum members may be able to hazard an estimate as to its age from the claimed journey times to/from London. (E.g. Dewsbury, 3 hrs 32 mins).
And does anyone recognise the 'GNR' logo design embossed on the ruler?
Believe the Science Museum may have a similar example in their collection.
Value, no idea. However, I'm not aware of a similar example having been offered via the usual Railwayana auction sites anytime recently.

It’s a nice ruler. About £20-30 would be my estimate. Try Great Central or Great Western railwayana auctions for a proper valuation.
