Please may I ask: are there now any other timber bridges still operational on the Cambrian Coast line, apart from the Barmouth Bridge? Since the road/rail bridge near Penrhyndeudraeth was rebuilt that was another one. I seem to remember a small one also near the coast. Thanks.

Not on the Coast Line, but Caersws River Bridge is still made of wood and has just recently had a major examination and some timbers replaced.

The bridge over the Afon Glaslyn between Minffordd and Porthmadog is also constructed in timber, it’s right alongside the bypass bridge (checkout Google Streetview). I think (others might confirm) that the Dovey river bridge between Dover Junction and Aberdovey is also timber, a quick Google Maps/Streetview search reveal two others: near Llanbedr and north of Tywyn.

The press release with video in post #8 of this thread shows a rehearsal for the replacement of the metal spans of Barmouth bridge.
