It's entirely possible that at least part of the car park will be in use for Rail Replacement Bus Services, so they may not be taking bookings at all for that weekend.
The only long term car parking at the station is in the newly expanded multi-storey and I can't imagine any of that being in use for RRB services.
The new open air car park consists only of taxi ranks, limited max 5 minute drop-off areas and limited max 20 minute parking spaces.
I understand that the old car park area and Railway Drive access is designed for use by RRB services.
Oh, and of the four times I have had to drop off/pick up folk from the new car park, three of the times it's been chaotic to say the least.
- Queuing from the Corn Hill traffic lights to get in. Mainly caused by traffic trying to leave queing from the same lights to get out. But at least one can use Sun St to get out now.
- Private hire taxis parked up in the 5 min drop-off lay bys, using them as their own Private Hire rank.
The old car park was bad enough, the new one is, in my opinion, worse.
