Hello,

I need some information and help with reducing my travel fares.

For the last few weeks i have been purchasing day returns, but recently i have learned of a Network Daytripper with an addon to cover me passed the west midlands boundary areas.

My travel plans are:

Departure Date: 20/10/2011

Departing: Wolverhampton
Arriving: Redditch

Arriving Redditch around 10am.
Departing Redditch 18:00 onwards

At present i have used a Network Daytripper plus but have been buying and buying a seperate return from Barnt Green to Redditch.

I would really appreicate some travel options that are cheap.

Today is 20/10/2011 so you're asking for information for a journey in the past. National Rail recommends to get to Redditch for 10:00 you leave on the 8:41 XC service from Wolverhampton. I wouldn't, it's always busy. Get the one before.

The Daytripper and Daytripper Plus aren't valid before 9:30 on weekdays and neither are valid to Redditch or Barnt Green. You are probably thinking of a nNetwork One Day but by buying a Daytripper or nNetwork One Day and then a single from Barnt Green you don't have a valid ticket from Longbridge to Barnt Green.

Wolverhampton-Redditch anytime return is £9.10
nNetwork One Day at £6.80 + Longbridge-Redditch anytime return at £3.70 is £10.50 so the option you are suggesting you do at the moment is actually costing you more unless you are using a bus to get to/from Wolverhampton as you can buy the nNetwork One Day on a bus.

If you are only using the train and are making this journey more than three times a week, or eleven times a month, you will be better off with the nTrain Out of County REDDITCH season ticket, for which you will need a Photocard:
£28.10 for 7 days
£107.90 for 1 month, £97.60 per month by monthly Direct Debit (minimum term 3 months) or cheaper if your employer has a corporate scheme agreement with Centro.

You can get the nTrain season at any staffed station within the West Midlands (so Wolverhampton should be able to sell it) or by Direct Debit you can apply online.

There are also nNetwork (Bus, Train and Tram) season tickets with an add on to Redditch (train only) which is £37.00 for 7 days.
