I should have been a lot clearer with my question. I was unaware of the lines that the OHLE were isolated.

That explains it, unluckily there was a 350 trapped north of Bushbury otherwise XC could have gone that way.

Probably not related to the fire yesterday but was on the 12:43 to Birmingham ex Stafford and the power tripped just south of Coseley. Train jerked and came to a halt, all the lights went off and about 10 minutes later, the power came back on and we were on our way again. Strange.

Slightly o/t but witnessed a Arriva 158 (new livery) speed through Witton station today in the bescott direction at 13.10. Anybody know where this was going.

Were any Cross Country trains been diverted down the Chase. If they had, I probably would have paid money to see that.
I can clearly remember the distant past seeing HST's on the Chase Lne during Sunday diversions joining the mainline at Rugeley TV.

They've been running some empties New St to New St via Aston Perry Barr Soho, probably route knowledge refreshing.

Yes they used to go that way but not any more as it takes nearly as long as reversing at Nuneaton, and there are more trains in the way these days. They can do 110 down the Trent Valley.
