Hi folks

Would anybody be able to tell me if the twin-bore tunnels which ran under the High Level tracks in Wolverhampton and into the Low Level station site are still accessible and how would I get to them?

Best Wishes

If you like beer, you won't make it past the Great Western PH right next door.

Holden and Bathams beers good meat rolls as well, lots of rlwy pics on wall. Stuff the tunnels!

I wouldn't say Bathams and Holden's Golden Glow are the best beers in the world, but they're in the top 2.

But the Western doesn't do rolls. It does cobs. Quite different! You can have Pork or Cheese & Onion. If you're feeling a bit fancy you can have a cheese and salad cob, but expect to be marked down as a tourist.

I remember running through them as a schoolboy with fellow spotters twice just after the station was turned into a parcel depot in 1970.

Hey, thanks for the replies guys, it's much appreciated! i've had a look at the maps and I can't see exactly where the north portal is and how you would reach it from the roads.

Dysonsphere (great name btw, Relics, TNG Series 6 at all??), how do you get to the portals? I don't think i'm brave enough to venture inside, I just want to have a look at them from the outside :)

Just so as to avoid disappointment, the tunnel portals are very much on private land and not accessible to the public. They are in an area that is surrounded by 8 ft high fencing.

You can see them on Bing Maps birds eye view if looking east. They are approximately 100 metres east of the pub car park, right under Crane Street junction. But as said previously, if you're going to the pub car park, you'd have a much better time in the pub.
