Over the past couple of weeks I've noticed something odd, on the down side at Woking. Services using plat 4, on approach, are being crossed onto the slow (2212 switch) and immediately back onto the fast (2213 switch) and into the platform?
At first I thought the short bit of track between them was defective, but then I noticed some services were being routed straight across. Is this some sort of procedure I don't know about? I've not seen it done before.

Don't have the answer for you, but would suggest that 2213's are seldom used within the normal Timetable, so possibly an occasional way to ensure they are in fine fettle?
