Woking to Waterbeach OPR

Can someone clarify for me the restrictions on an Off Peak Period Return from Woking to Waterbeach as Stansted Airport gate staff still don't like me breaking my outward journey there. My reading of Avantix is that I can break my journey both ways at Stansted Airport if I so desire as routes via Stansted group are permitted and Stansted airport is bizarrely part of Stansted group despite being a higher fare than any of the stations between Standsted Mountfichet and Waterbeach.

My interpretation is the same as yours - providing the associated routeing point for Waterbeach is Cambridge and Stansted Airport is still part of Stansted Group. Until ATOC sort out what is, in my opinion, the shoddiest, most erroneous, and most unfit for purpose Routeing Guide to date we won't know for sure. In its current state the RG is unusable...

I suspect the problem staff at Stansted Airport have is they're probably thinking the ticket is not valid on that branch and so you shouldn't be there. Of course that is not true and asking them to check the RG themselves should be enough. Although I'm sure you've probably already tried that tactic!

As we both know, intermediate fares have no part in the valid routeings. I suspect high fares to Stansted Airport are deliberate for those people who use the airport.

Thanks for your response. One last thing. I note that my off peak period return from Woking to Waterbeach is coded 4A and so is valid at any time after 0930 yet despite a ticket from Woking to Stansted costing more the Stansted ticket has evening peak restrictions as its coded 7B. Is my Avantix out of date or is there really no evening peak restriction out of Kings Cross or Liverpool Street to Cambridge under 4A?

It's generally only fares from the London area that are restricted out of King's Cross for destinations within the Network Area.
