WMT 172 to Aylesbury Depot

Spotted an interesting path for today. (5J71 0650 Tyseley L.M.D. to Aylesbury D.M.U. Depot) It ended up being cancelled, just like the return path will tomorrow, however, I was wondering what the reason was for this to be put in the system in the first place? If a 172 needs maintenance I would assume it would be done in-house or done at Ilford like they have done before.

I suspect it was possibly for a 196 to start crew training for EWR.

Extremely unlikely as 196s won't be based at Aylesbury and staff there will not be required to sign them. More likely a move for tyre-turning on the lathe at Aylesbury if the one at Tyseley is out of action.
