Recently posted on the West Midlands Railway jobs board. Does anyone have any idea of the rough salary. Unfortunately working for NR I don't get any insight knowledge into TOC salaries!

On another note, if anyone has any signalling job queries, feel free to ask!

It won’t be on a par with NR control salaries. ;)

Hi mate

As a wild guess I would say the job would be between the 30k to 40k bracket.

West Midlands have a habit of not revealing salaries on their vacancy board and often use the word 'competitive' quite frequently, although they do give salary information about some of their lesser paid roles.

The Abellio TOCs don't seem to pay as highly as Arriva TOCs do for the same role, although First Group tend to be quite streamlined with salaries for jobs with some of their TOCs.l

I would just try and research the role. Glass Door are usually good for giving you info about salaries for certain job titles.

Most TOCs don’t post salaries these days. I assume because although important, the salary shouldn’t be somebody’s only reason for applying for a job and since the salaries are generally quite good...

Thanks guys, I'll have to do some more digging. The problem is, don't want to waste time with potential applications if it would be a pay cut.

After training it’s around £45k a year from people currently in the role
