I was playing through the rangers on a ticket machine which lets you buy the lot and found this.

Some off peak tickets in the west midlands use restriction code G1. Previously this used to say something like if the fare was more expensive than the price (in numbers so sometimes out of date) of the daytripper, then issue the daytripper (too bad if you're online!).

Now it refers to an AnyTrain ticket, although it's still a TFWM fare, not WMT. See:

Interestingly railcards can be applied, so there is some genuine appeal for those not taking the bus or tram.

Although I don't think there's a way to extend (correct if I'm wrong) to Add-on or Plus in the same way as the Daytripper.

Essentially, a new TFWM Rail Ranger.
