Got a pair for Christmas and just been trying them out. Was turning the little tuning thing and as planned, was listening to YouTube. Had dinner and did the same thing, however now when I move my head to the right I can hear random bits of piano and a typewriter, followed by a gunshot and a tannoy saying "I'm Hank Green and people keep pooing in my pants".

My question is what the hell is this, and where is it coming from?! The transmitter doesn't even have to be plugged into the speakers, so it can't be my computer

Edit: I think Hank has had a large arachnid removed from his anus, and his friends should send him earwax to make a large ball of it :?

Well that gets My vote for most bizzare post of the year so far! ;)

Although, wireless headphones sound good to Me. I'm still using some Sanyo full ear type ones I bought in 1992 for My Amiga 1200. Lasted well really.

That made me laugh so much, I almost choked!

There's no way your picking up another transmitter on the same frequency or something is there? I'm not sure how your headphones work, though.

Basically the transmitter uses a certain band of frequencies, and a small turny thing on the side of the earphones scans through. The only bit that gives a clear sound rather than a "shhhhh" sound (I know there's a word for that, but it is after 1am... :p) is the usual position and playing this somewhat strange thing.

EDIT: We're back on folks, so either the interferring transmitter has been turned off or I was imagining the whole thing :?

EDIT 2: Just came up with the idea of Googling "Hank Green" and it looks like it was this where Hank and his brother John communicated solely through video logs for a year..... as heard on BBC Radio! So yeah, basically the BBC took over my headphones! GRRRR!

I was 2 when you bought those. I'm 18 this September.....

Feeling old yet? ;)

Hell yeah! Last time I actually looked I was 21......Time does indeed flypast after then.
But on the plus side as a teenager I saw/travelled on 1st gen DMU's, loco's cl 20,25,31,33,37,40,43,45,47,50,55,56,58,59,60's. Plus cl84,85,86,87 & 90's. The only tilting trains from my teen years was the APT & not vermin tripe.

Looking at your age then I actually Joined British Rail (Midland region) in the year You were born (5th March 1990) & had the chance to work hands on with almost all those classes listed above. Looking at the limited stuff we have today where poor kids (like Jord) have to "Like" 66's as theres really bugger all else left & others claim how great certain vermin units are , well that makes Me glad I'm 35 & had a chance to see the railway in the last years it was a proper one! ;)

Plus I can insure My Fireblade, Mk1 MR2 & heavily modified Jeep Wrangler for less than £800.......:lol:

Those that need to know - KNOW!!!
True, i wish i could have seen the railways when it was proper loco's running everyday, but that's impossible now.

(Like Voyagerdude220) ?

Now if you'd said Like Meld I may have only took the gate instead of offence :D:D

Seriously tho' I must be one of the few on here that remembers the railways when they were railways <(<(

They guided busways now then? ;)

No we still have rails, the tory brigade still havent managed to have us remove the two inner rails of a two track formation & infill with tarmac yet! To make ideal relief roads as I believe the thatcher plan was hinting at in the 80's

And now it's the Lib Dems who want to turn our railways into (mis)guided busways and the Tories trying to stop them. :p
