Hello

Can anyone tell me anything about these plaques.

Are they original? Copies? Souvenirs? Are they worth anything?

Cheers

From the photograph, they don't look to be the original name and number plates from the loco.

Do you know what they are made of? The originals were cast at Swindon Works, but I'm not sure what the base metal was. Many years ago, I used to have a contact who could provide replicas, but these weren't worth anywhere near what the originals were / are (although they did cost a few quid!).

So, the key seems to me to be what they are made of - if you can say, this will help.

:)

Sorry for the delay.

I've been able to have a proper look now, and they seem to be made of a heavy plastic or resin. Quite convincing though!

I guess that means they're not worth much, but I'd be interested in finding out more about them...

To be honest, I'm afraid that I don't know.

I've had a quick look at the internet, but with no success. I'm also not really sure how you'd find out either - sorry.
