Window alignment: can it be improved?

Interesting thread this! I understand that on the XC HST sliding door sets that 11 seats have been taken out according to the thread for these.

Not great when you consider the capacity shortage but I was watching one on YouTube leave Newton Abbot on diagram 1S51 and noticed that where at least seat numbers 70 and 72 in Coach F - and I guess seats 77 and 79 in coaches C, D and E - plus the aisle table seats here have been ever so slightly pushed back. These window table seats now provide better window views!

I assume this was to make them priority seating?

I’ve just returned after a holiday based in Inverness using a Spirit of Scotland Railrover. I was very impressed with the seating layout in the ScotRail 158’s I travelled on the Far North, Kyle of Lochalsh and Inverness to Aberdeen lines. Lots of tables where seats were aligned with the windows. Just how trains used to be and quite comfortable seats too.

Not been on toomany Scotrail 158s to judge , did notice the tables are narrow.

385s airline seats are poor window alignment . I feel fewer tables and more airlines as they on commuter routes .

The only thing I wasn't particularly keen on the GWR HST's when they had their massive overhaul / refurbishment in 2006 - 2008 was more airline seats and less tables which I'd rather that than stand up but for passengers going to and from London or Reading and Devon and Cornwall or even South Wales you'd have to hope you can book a table seat in Advance.

I can't believe I didn't notice until I saw a past video I did of a GWR HST or one on YouTube before my last trip on one out of London Paddington was that the window table seats in the Quiet Coaches on the left hand side sort of provide a window view - you have a wall in the middle which still isn't bad.
