Winchester/London - Gourock

Hi all,

I'm headed from Winchester to Gourock on the 18th April, to arrive any time before 2000. I'm struggling to find any cheap fares. I assume, with it being holiday season they've all gone. Does anyone have any bright ideas? I'll be taking my bicycle, so flying/coach aren't options.

I can get to London for free, so from London would be good too.

I already have a ticket for the return leg, and I have a 16-25 Railcard.

Depends what you mean by cheap, but there's a £42.90 single on the 1343 Euston-Glasgow arr 1919 (this runs via Birmingham).

Thanks for the tip. But I found a £33.80 advance on EC, Kings Cross to Glasgow Central.

Ironic it has to be before 2000, as there's a £27.60 fare on the 1500 KGX - GLC (arr 2020) which, at 5h 20 is one of the faster journey times, too!

Can't find anything better than the fare you found (though I make it £33.45 on the EC site - that applies for most trains that day)

I will also be taking my bike on some trains that day, as it's the day of our Woodhead Cycle ride
