As for the honours thing, I heard the commentators saying after the match, could he be coming back as Sir Andy Murray next year. I believe that people should be honoured for there achievements, but don't believe people should be honoured for winning one big tournament or doing well in one event.
Sportsmen/women should only be honoured for consistency over a career, Chris Hoy and Bradley Wiggins deserve there Knighthoods because they have more than H.Samuel, for people like Rebecca Adlington, they have only done it when it mattered and not over many years, should get some recognition but not the royal honours. The honours system should be in place for those who have excelled in there area of expertise over a certain amount of years, if Andy Murray can go on and win more Slams, then definitely knight him, bit don't do it on the fact he was the first Brit in 77 years to win Wimbledon, let's see what he can do over his career.
I remember a few years ago an American friend of mine compared the Brit at Wimbledon hoodoo to the Boston RedSox never being able to win the World Series in Baseball
