Will FGW Hire a SWT 159 again this summer?

Hi all,

I have heard rumours that FGW will be having a SWT 159 working on the Summer timetable starting in may, im not sure which working it will do though... I overheard staff talking about this at Salisbury last week! What will happen guys?!?!?!

Quite possibly the same as last year, keeping it on the Cardiff - Portsmouth / Brighton diagrams keeps it fairly close to Salisbury.

There are nearly 2 months to go yet before the start of the Timetable, and although the diagrams would have been prepared in order to prove the Timetable, there could still be loose ends to tie up and any decision which it might work may not be finally made until nearer the time.

Probably will be similar as last year, i.e. 07 23 Warminster to Great Malvern, 10 50 Great Malvern to Brighton and return to Bristol but may be for High Summer only. This was the intention (SX) last year but stayed through September.

Obviously with Bathampton engineering works this summer the diagram could be heavily altered
