Episode 2 of the ITV series Wild Bill will have infuriated pedants like myself.
A stranger arrives by coach in Boston having rung the bell after passing a line of beach huts and alights through a door on the right not the left. Since when did Boston have a beach?
Further scenes are set at Boston station which is portrayed as a terminus with up to 5 platforms and a piano on the concourse. Boston is a simple two-platform through station. Where was it actually filmed? Skegness perhaps? At least they got the reference to EMT as the TOC correct.
The series itself totally misconstrues the roles of different police ranks. Chief constables do not team up in pairs with detective WPCs to solve crimes and they don't take bollockings off local politicians.
And finally the cleared no 1 suspect leaves town on a coach with the door on the left which departs from an isolated spot by the docks and not the bus station.
