This is to be my first thread on this forum. Sorry if this is in the wrong place, but as I am new, I am sure that someone will come to my rescue and point out where it should be.

Now onto my query. I work in Wigan, and during my lunch hour I tend to find myself wandering over to Wigan North Western, sitting in the sun eating my lunch. Luckily for me, from my office window I am able to see the WCML just south of WNW station, but this is far from ideal for spotting from. I am aware that the Tesco train usually passes as well as 1 or 2 other freights but due to working not able to spot, or photo.

But I have found myself wondering what freight / non-stop passenger workings IF ANY are due through the station during lunch 12:00 - 14:00. If anyone can help, I would really appreciate it.

Finally, I am going to start using my free saturdays to travel to either Warrington Bank Quay and begin spotting there or Wigan North Western. But I have the same dilemma, I am unsure of what freight / non-stop passenger workings are due through the station. If anything special is due through, I would certainly wait for it.

If anyone can come to my aid it would be much appreciated.

Regards

If you have internet access whilst at the office, or in the morning before going to work -
Go to Yahoo Groups
Search for "rail-gen" http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/rail-gen/?yguid=184676335 (URL subject to change)
There are other similar groups, typically for areas or specific train companies
Search for "freightliner-gen" http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/Freightliner-Gen/?yguid=184676335 )URL subject to change)

However, most of the messages are listed by the train headcode but once you are familiar how these work reading the messages takes seconds
Example -
1M44 18:45 86702 (recently posted on the GBRF-gen group)
