Wigan-Lille

I fancy going a Music Festival in Amneville in France which i understand is near Lille anyway how much would a through Ticket Wigan-Lille cost and then i assume id need to find a way to Amneville any suggestions? Rail bus coach?

So my itinary would be go Friday Morning Approx 11am from Wigan Return into Wigan for 7pm on the Monday is there any form of ticket that could allow this or would it be a few singles?

You may find it cheaper to use Advances between Wigan and London CIV - http://brfares.com/#fares?orig=WGN&dest=LNE - with a Eurostar ticket from London to Lille. This protects your connection rights in the event of a delay.

So Wigan London London-Paris then Paris to Metz then a Local train to Amneville is what my freind told me to do as he says theres no direct Lille to Amneville transport of any type? can anyone with French Knowledge help me on this one?

If you're referring to this venue http://www.le-galaxie.fr/Sonisphere-Festival?lang=fr then it's not near Lille but in Lorraine near Metz you would need to travel via Paris and Metz then get a local train to the venue.

Yea i want to go to Sonisphere for Slayer,Stonesour and Limp Bizkit although i shall be seeing two of the bands the following week in Donnington bit disappointed to be doing this as the English Sonisphere was better run than Donnington but Recession and all that ruined it so can i get a London-Lorraine or Metz ticket valid over a weekend?

For Eurostar and TGV you just buy advance singles each way. A through fare from Wigan to Metz should be possible via Paris, then pay for the local train from Metz to Hagondange separately.

As already noted , it may be better NOT to book a through ticket.

Eurostar offers fares from London to Metz from £99 return. London - Paris can be booked up to 4 months in advance and Paris - Metz up to 3 months in advance and these through tickets can therefore also only be booked up to 3 months in advance. Alternatively, you could buy a £69 return from London to Paris and onward tickets from www.tgv-europe.com though this is likely to be more expensive.

If you buy a ticket from Wigan rather than London from Eurostar, you will be offered a ticket from Wigan to Lndon Estar (CIV) on a connecting train but you cannot use Railcards or choose an earlier train (which may have cheaper Advance fares). You will also have to wait until Wigan - London bookings are available before you can buy such a ticket (in which time London to Metz prices may go up). It is therefore advisable to use Eurostar Domestic Sales (01233 617913) to buy a ticket to Lndon Estar (CIV). These special tickets for Eurostar connections are only available through Eurostar, give extra protection in case of delays and are usually cheaper. Alternatively you can buy a ticket to London Intl (CIV) from any railway station - the protection is the same but the price may be different (usually higher).

There is a local train (TER) from Metz Ville to Gandrange-Amneville. The whole journey is likely to take around 9 hours.

Singles with Eurostar cost just over half the price of the return so a return for London to Paris / Metz would be cheaper than two singles. However, Advance (or equivalent) fares for Wigan to London and Paris to Metz are only sold as singles.
