Why won't someone responsible create a new Bordesley viaduct?

There is two plans to resurrect three dead railway lines with Moor Street as terminal and they all based on Bordesley viaduct (Not sure about third one through).

The three railway lines are:

1) Camp Hill line.
2) Tamworth Line.
3) Sutton park line.

And what has happened to Cooperative plans to have a line from Moor Street to Taunton that are due to be in service in December 2011?

Why this is taking so long to reach conclusion? Camp Hill and Sutton Park line have a lots of people living along those lines and will bring in a lot of money.

Perhaps Camp Hill could open as a heritage station as the first terminus of the Birmingham to Gloucester line.:)

Go Cooperative reckon 2013 with brand new rolling stock, but their website hasn't really said much for a while.
--- old post above --- --- new post below ---
Sutton Park line would only get a station at Aldridge which would turnback only, there is no point going any further. Tamworth still has plans for an extra train with a turnback. Camp Hill has gone very quiet. Are you sure you mean Bordesley viaduct ? I thought that was the stub that heads towards the Cross City line towards Aston, there is more chance of me becoming head of NR before that happens....

And where will the rolling stock come from without electrification?

Not old one, the new one that merges old camp hill line into Moor Street/Snow Hill line.

I checked Sutton park Line, I do see that there is little benefit of going any further than Aldridge. But if it connected to Walsall, I think it would be faster to use Moor street line than NS.

What if the Chasewater Railway was extended to start from Moor Street? :)

Also what's the "Tamworth Line"? I can find Camp Hill and Sutton Park lines alright.

I think any expanded use of Moor Street is great.

If those all 3 lines are introduced at same time with a help of advertising, then most brum commuters will start to use it instead of bus as it is already cheaper than buses. Basically, it will become like a metro system, like LUL but not underground.

Oh, that would be great. It's always seemed logical to have a station at the Fort, and Castle Bromwich not having one is just silly.

I think you're right, rail in Birmingham could quickly become the main form of travel (or at least a big contender to buses).

Not a chance for the Fort and Castle Bromwich, it is full to the brim down there with freight and passenger traffic. Only way would be to stop the local Nottingham or the potential Tamworth service and unless there was a chunk of subsidy or big money for XC they wouldn't want to know.

Most of the original question can be answered by a read of the West Midlands RUS, published back in May.

However there are no explicit dates proposed for any of the necessary infrastructure work in the Birmingham area, and although they do acknowledge Centro's 'wish list', NR really only hint that something might be possible in Control Period 6, ie between 2019-2024.

As for the Go-Cooperative - well almost every few months the origin changes yet again, is it to be Yeovil Jn, is it Westbury, is it Taunton. Will never happen I reckon, especially if it is both to use new stock, and pay its fair share of access charges, as per ORR's new policy...

How many more services can Moor Street handle? I always find it odd that Chiltern did it so platforms 3 and 4 are connected by a single line...

There's a bit of space to north of Moor Street station, just where new street lines goes under. On this area, new platforms can be created.

By the way, COGO website keep saying they do have timetables, but where is it?

Two tracks into P3 and 4 at Moor St are only required if you want simultaneous departures and arrivals. You can get trains 2 or 3 minutes apart as it is.

As for GoCo, they don't have fixed and agreed timetables, they have prospective paths they want which will need to be (or have been) performance modelled, if they are considered a peformance risk then I cannot see it getting far.

Their registered office is a small terraced house in Bristol. Should they be taken seriously at all?

Not the most sensible of places to register bearing in mind their obvious desire to rebuilt the whole east side of the Birmingham rail network.

Rebuild? All they're planning to do for Birmingham is introduce a one cross county service that goes to South West.
