Why so long to confirm West Coast June weekend timetables?

According to Avanti, most weekends in June don't have timetables confirmed yet. It's only a few weeks away, anyone know why these weekend's timetables continue to be delayed?

They are still not showing which is very annoying as I need to travel from London to Liverpool that weekend. The National Rail website unhelpfully has that old favourite "This service will not run as shown" but doesn't say why, or when the journey planner will be updated. Delving a bit deeper indicates that there are engineering works necessitating a diversion via Northampton (and presumably a thinning-out of the service).

In this day and age when the need to maximise weekend / leisure usage of the railway is paramount, this is very poor. I don't know the proportion, but I imagine a significant number of leisure travellers like to plan their journeys several weeks in advance and to get their advance tickets sorted.
