Had my surgery yesterday at the Homerton hospital, which invariably requires a journey from Leeds to London.
The hospital clerk and I booked a train ticket for today's return journey and all was good. Got onto the train that formed the 1933 service and realised we had booked the ticket for the 1933 tomorrow. Normally this wouldn't be a bad thing and one would just use the walk-up counters. Except I stupidly left my debit card in my trouser pockets at home. Thanks to advances in technology, I was able to work around this in one of two ways: Have my brother purchase the required ticket in Leeds and send me the ticket reference number, OR buy my ticket online through a travelling based app such as TrainLine, which I used in this instance. A stress I didn't need with my stitching and bleeding, but all is sorted and I am on a train home.
