Why is LMS 5MT No.45212 Being withdrawn from service

Sorry if this is on the wrong place but i've just seen a video from the KWVR about there Autumn Steam Gala and it says that LMS 5MT No.45212 is going to there and that it will be the last ever gala the loco will be at before being withdrawn from service so i want to know why is this loc being withdrawn from service as it is one of the Black 5's

Would guess that it's boiler certificate is about to run out. They are only valid for a set amount of time (usually 10 years) and once that time is up then the boiler has to be overhauled no matter what condition it or the rest of the loco is in.

Yes and no.

It has been on a hire contract, which is about to expire. Boiler ticket is indeed almost up too, as the contract was for a 10 year period.

The 10 year maximum is no more than a theoretical figure anyway. It doesn't matter how long a machine has on it's ticket; if it is knackered, you can't steam it!
