Isn't that a fire door to enable the passengers to be transferred to the 'non-burning' side of the door?I often see this partition on one of the carriages and it looks like a sliding door. What is it and why is it there?
Believe it's one of four 'fire partitions', used in the event of an on-board fire to enable it to be contained in one section - with passengers obviously moved to other unaffected sections.I often see this partition on one of the carriages and it looks like a sliding door. What is it and why is it there?
Happens very rarely, but I did use one a few weeks back. Thanks peeps, never seen this stock short formed!
Anyone got a picture of it closed?
The Elizabeth line class 345s doDo the other modern wall-through MU classes have these kind of partitions too?

Someone had vomitted all over coach 11, instead of pulling the unit out of service. We closed these doors and the train could continue short formed to it's destination, and ultimately the depot for cleaning.
Sorry I don't have a picture of them deployed. That’s interesting. I’ve literally never seen one being used. Are there any pictures floating around of them deployed?
(To echo the similar request above!).
