I am shamed to admiit that when I was in Carlisle in the 1960's. someone gave me a free ticket to see Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Titch....and I actually went :roll:

Shamed? Why? I wish I'd been there.

Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick and Titch were a classic 60's band, and will be rememberd long after the likes of Lady GaGabage have been confined to history.

Their February 1968 number one hit 'Ledgend Of Xanadu' is playing as I write this.

Appearing with Wizzard was Bob Marley & the Wailers just before he achieved superstardom. I'd heard about them in the music press of the time and how good they supposedly were, but all the reviews neglected to use the word REGGAE, which I utterly despise. The band tuned up, then launched into a reggae track. I immediately turned round and bought another pint, AND I DON'T REGRET IT!

Ooooo, where you going to be seeing him? I guess it is the Rocket Man tour?

I was lucky enough to see him last week at the Scarborough Open Air Theatre - one of only two solo performances he is doing on this tour...and over 2 hours of performance without a break!

Have to say I've not seen many people live but have seen Elton John (as you may have now worked out ) and have also seen Peter Kay and Ken Dodd, but that is all I can think of at the moment.

Summer '05? I was there!! Fire alarm went off in the hotel i was staying in that night!!
Went to 2 that year i think. RAH and NEC.
Why would people hide the fact? Nowt to be embarassed about. Its the first name i come out with when people ask me what music i like. The lost look on most peoples faces is brilliant!! Then just to confuse them even more i mention Mr Illsley as well!

At the risk of never living this down to forum members who think that I have "no soul" when it comes to modern life, in the early 1960's, a group of us from Manchester University went to see The Rolling Stones play at the Twisted Wheel in Manchester. They were very good value for the ticket price.

My face is wearing better than Mick Jagger's face these days.
