There is a stage two report on improvements for Whittlesford Parkway station from the Greater Cambridge Partnership which I can’t see this being commented on. I can’t post the link but they are talking about better bus links, 570 space car park, better cycle links and shops etc. What do people think and is this just more hot air from a talking shop or will it happen?

A version of this story is at https://www.cambridgeindependent.co...as-plan-revealed-for-parkway-station-9059413/:

‘Done deal’ concerns as plan revealed for Whittlesford Parkway station
...
Concerns have been raised about the impact of Greater Cambridge Partnership plans for Whittlesford Parkway Station.

The plans, which were published in a GCP report in December, look at the creation of a multi-modal transport interchange to accommodate demand from both the village and the wider area.

This is a continuation of the development discussed at https://www.greatercambridge.org.uk/transport/transport-projects/rural-travel-hubs/:

WHITTLESFORD TRANSPORT MASTER PLANNING EXERCISE
Whittlesford was initially identified as a potential site for a pilot Rural Travel Hub in the Feasibility Study report, published in January 2018.

There's an interesting typo in the linked material:

"Whittlesford Parking Station"

So far, the GCP appears to have been a rather efficient mechanism at taking a lot of money that could have been used for actual, much-needed transport improvements in the area, and instead giving it to a collection of consultants to produce lots of pointless reports and studies.

I wouldn't expect much of what they say to happen anytime soon.
